YOUR CHANCE TO VOTE ON THE CUPAR WARD LOCAL PLACE PLAN PROPOSALS!

After numerous public consultation meetings and extensive stakeholder interviews, we now have 33 proposals ready to submit.

Before we submit our Cupar Ward Local Place Plan, we must demonstrate the level of local support for our proposals. To this end, we have created a short questionnaire that allows you to vote on each of the proposals.

The survey takes no more than 10 minutes to complete.

We would be most grateful if you would be able to take the time to complete the survey.

You are welcome to share the survey with friends, family and colleagues who live or work in Cupar Ward!

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE - CUPAR & DISTRICT

As we adapt to an ever changing world it is important for us to all work together to make sure that  “Cupar & District” – the catchment area of Bell Baxter High School - can be as sustainable as it can be, so join us at CDT in helping to develop that future during 2023, looking forward to 2030 and beyond.

We work with many other groups operating in our area, partners from the private and public sector and people who live and work in and around Cupar our aim will be to develop a global approach, strategy and plan that will encompass three key parts of a framework which we are calling “Our Kind Of Town”.

  • Community Action Plan  (CAP) that will seek to develop sustainable communities that connect physically and virtually, supports the sustainability of villages and the main town of Cupar and where people can live and thrive.  The consultation about the CAP included face-to-face discussions in the Corn Exchange and in the Castlehill Community Centre, as well as the Survey which many readers will have completed.  The results will be shared later this year.
  • Local Place Plan (LPP) that will examine the future use of buildings and land, identifying potential for development that can benefit the community, economy, environment and people positively.
  • The Fife Council Local Development Plan (LDP) which  be published in draft by the end of 2023.

These combine to create a terrific opportunity to link with the Community and Place Plans, ensuring the widest scope for engagement with people from across our area so that the three plans work together for all parties.

In phase one, we hope to encourage key organisations and stakeholders to engage with our district-wide consultations to set out key strands of ideas and opportunities for improving our area. The second phase will aim to bring these focused stands together to create an ambitious set of action plans developed and agreed by the community.

Our previous consultations have resulted in some key projects, the most notable being the “Inner Court Project” to fill a gap site in the town, building new flats and creating a future for the space. The idea for this project came out of the 2016 Charrette and the project is moving forward with the final stages of planning and consents being secured to start construction work in the near future.

The Cupar area has weathered well during recent years. There will be several key challenges for the future in areas such as energy, food, economy, transport, education and training, wellbeing and the impacts of poverty. We hope that the plans we produce will address these issues and highlight opportunities for future improvements.

CDT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2023

At the 2023 AGM, Bill Pagan and Mark Richardson retired from the Board.

Anne Bain, Rick Bond and James Hair  were all re-elected to the Board.

A new board member was elected, Mr Euan McLeod. We are pleased to welcome him onto the 2024 Cupar Development Trust Board of Directors.

CUPAR CELEBRATION WEEKEND

The Cupar Big Weekend 2023 was held on 15th to 17th September. This exiting weekend was a wonderful showcase for our local young people and their organisations. Over 2,000 people attended the weekend's events which included the Big Ceilidh, The Big Concert, The Big Praise, The Wee Cycle and numerous other community organisation events and open days. To see more of this very successful event for 2021 and 2022, some of which was steered by Cupar Development Trust, with Stirlings Fun Fair in the park, and in 2021 the hugely successful “C in the Park” there too, visit the CuparNow website by clicking  HERE
